MEET THE BLOGGER

After spending my formative years on a farm in Northwest Missouri, I found myself drawn to travel and adventure. I was fortunate enough to have a father who loved going. Whether it be to the Black Hills of South Dakota, the mountains in Colorado Springs, or even venturing into Texas, Wyoming, Montana, or the surrounding western states, he made sure that family vacations were a staple of my childhood.
That is where my journey begins. Once the travel bug bites, it is impossible to be content staying in one place, seeing one city, and never leaving the state. You want to go, and go, and go. You plan, you save, you drive, you fly, and you leave.
And that’s who I am.
I love the east coast, and I love the west. I love everything in the middle (except maybe Kansas), and I love people. I like cities, and I like the countryside. I like lakes, rivers, oceans, streams, mountains, deserts, sand, and snow. I love knowing there are other countries and continents that need my footprints.
I love knowing that I don’t have to stay in one place.
And maybe that’s why you’re here. Because you don’t want to stay put either. You don’t have to.
I'm 25, and this is the start of my life. I'm a dog mom, he likes to travel too. I'm leaving behind my small town roots for something bigger, something scarier, and something beautiful. I'm going to see everything I want to see, fly solo, go on road trips, put my feet in the ocean, hike, and take deep breaths.
And I want you to come with me.
TRAVEL PREFERENCES
Favorite place visited so far: Austin, Texas (close second: Boulder, Colorado)
Swim with sharks or swim with dolphins: Sharks, for SURE.
What won’t you travel without?: Extra socks. Like, plenty of extra socks.
Solo travel or travel with friends: Travel solo and then meet up with friends, but mostly travel with friends.
Best piece of travel advice you have received: Money always comes back, you do not have to be rich to go somewhere cool.
Top travel tip: Spontaneity is cool but having a skeleton of an agenda is critical. You don't have to plan everything, but nowing where your money will go on a trip helps you save!
City or countryside: A little bit of both! West of the Mississippi- open areas and countryside, east of the Mississippi- cities.
Early, late or on time: Early to the airport, on time to a reservation, late to literally everything else.
Where do you want to travel the most: Chang Mai, Thailand (Elephant sanctuary anyone?)
Aisle or window: Window only and this is a hill I will die on
