There's always room.
I recently had the opportunity to go back to the community where I spent four full years of my early adulthood to catch up with friends and sorority sisters before my move. Businesses have come and gone, renovations have turned my small, historical campus into a hidden gem in the town of around 3,000 people. One community addition, nestled along Church Street, looks to withstand the test of time.

Thrive Coffee + Creamery opened its doors on July 4th with a bang. In fact, before their grand opening they were already featured in Feast Magazine. A non-profit serving gourmet ice cream and direct trade coffee and tea, that's focus is community growth, growth as individuals, and fellowship, owners Clayton and Amanda Kreisel do what they do best - give back to their community. They're inclusive, welcoming everyone from all walks of life to enjoy their new business because there's always room for you at Thrive.
As an added bonus, as if you needed more of a reason to visit, they're committed to being locally and ethically sourced. Missouri dairy farmers source their dairy ingredients, their coffee comes from Three Story Coffee in Jefferson City, tea is a product of Hugo Tea in Kansas City, and their soda comes from Fitz's in St. Louis.
With a goal of making a difference in their local community and across the globe, they want YOU to feel at home and thrive.

Beyond rooting themselves in the community, Thrive Coffee + Creamery deeply roots themselves in their core values: dignity, excellence, and community. The moment you walk in the door you can tell that they value people, they value you. Young and old, local or out of town, the staff at Thrive treat you with dignity. They're kind, they're helpful, they're dedicated to the mission of making you feel welcomed and make a difference. It takes a special person to care about their community beyond the average "we should do this" statement in a meeting or with friends. It takes selfless, caring people to step in, see where the community can improve, know what would benefit the community, and jump in and create.
As a student, it's easy to feel lost in the crowd. It was hard to find a place to sit quietly, develop new friendships and relationships, and have heartfelt conversations face-to-face. In a digital era, communities and individuals can benefit from businesses like Thrive who care about you, your personal growth, and your healthy relationships.

I had the pleasure of meeting the Kreisels through friends (Thank you Abby, Max, and others) during my time at Central Methodist University and if there's a single thing I can say it's that the world needs more people like them.
Currently scooping Candied Butter Pecan, Chai, Peaches + Cream, Raspberry Cheese Cake, Churro, Peanut Butter S'Mores, Let's Go Bluesberry, Espresso Yourself, Just Chocolate, Sweet Cream, Strawberry Fields Forever, and Mango + Lime, there's something here for everyone.
My personal favorite? Let's Go Bluesberry (but you can never go wrong with an ice cream named after a Beatles song either!)
Thrive Coffee + Creamery provided for me exactly the service they set out to do day in and day out.
The minute I walked in the door with Danielle and Shannon the stress of leaving my job, the sadness I felt about leaving Mid-Missouri after 7 years, and the anxiety of starting a new adventure left. We talked, a personal conversation that can't happen through text messages and social media interaction. We laughed, something that doesn't happen often when you're trapped in a cubicle.
And don't forget: there's always room for ice cream.
Ciao,
Courtney
